Abeln processes, inter alia, surname, first name, initials, postal address, telephone, e-mail address, company name, title, date of birth and other information necessary for the purposes of its services or any of the purposes listed below.
Abeln obtains your personal data because you disclose them yourself, or because Abeln obtains them from third parties in the course of providing its services (or any of our other processing purposes), for example from its clients or counterparties, or from public sources such as the trade register or land registry.

Abeln processes your personal data for the following purposes:
- For the provision of legal services;
- For the purpose of customer administration and accounts receivable management;
- For sending newsletters and invitations to seminars;
- To comply with legal obligations;

Abeln may process your personal data on the following bases:
- The processing is necessary for the performance of the contract concluded with you or in the run-up to the conclusion of a contract, for example for making a quotation;
- Compliance with a legal obligation;
- To safeguard the legitimate interests of Abeln, its clients and third parties;
- If your personal data is processed on the basis of consent, such consent will be requested separately. You may withdraw the consent you have given at any time.
5. Provision of data to third parties
It is sometimes necessary to share your data with third parties. This may be necessary in certain circumstances when handling your file. There are also a number of trusted service providers with whom we may share your personal data as part of our services, such as bailiffs or ICT service providers.
Abeln will not provide your data for commercial or charitable purposes.
6. Transfer of your data outside the EEA
Your personal data will not be processed outside the EEA. The EEA is the European Economic Area, consisting of the countries of the European Union, Liechtenstein, Norway and Iceland.
7. How long we keep your data
Abeln will not process your personal data for longer than necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy statement. Certain data must be kept longer because Abeln must comply with legal retention obligations, such as the tax retention obligation.
8. How we secure your data
We consider it important that your personal data are secured against loss or unauthorised access. Therefore, Abeln has taken appropriate security measures.
9. Cookies
Our website does not use cookies.
10. Your rights.
You have the right to request Abeln to inspect your personal data. Upon receipt of your request, you will receive an overview of your personal data within 1 month. If this reveals any inaccuracies, you can request that your data be amended, supplemented, deleted or blocked.
You can also request Abeln to transfer your personal data or object to the processing of your personal data due to special personal circumstances.
